How we make money.

Labeled advertising, kept separate from the rankings. Placement is not available for purchase.

Advertising, kept clearly labeled and completely separate from the rankings. No provider can buy a position, a score, or a kind sentence. If that ever changes, this page changes first.

You should be suspicious of any site that ranks businesses and also takes their money. That's a real conflict, and pretending otherwise is how most local "best of" lists quietly became paid directories. So here's the whole arrangement in plain language.

What is for sale

What is not for sale, at any price

I've had the conversation already, and I expect to have it again: an owner asks what it would take to move up. The answer is publish your pricing, name your medical director, and earn better reviews. There's no invoice that does it.

Comped treatments

To score consultation quality and facility safety I have to actually go. Sometimes a provider offers the treatment at no charge so I can evaluate it. When that happens, three things are true, always:

  1. It's stated on that provider's profile, in a sentence you can't miss.
  2. It does not change their score or their position.
  3. I keep the right to write exactly what I found, including that it wasn't good.

If a provider isn't comfortable with all three, I pay for the treatment myself, or I don't cover that treatment.

Affiliate links

There are none on the site today. If that changes, links will be marked and this page will say so before they go live.

Why do it this way

Partly because the FTC requires honest disclosure on exactly this kind of health-adjacent recommendation, and partly because it's the only version of this site worth building. The independence is the product. A ranked list that can be bought is just an ad in a nicer font, and readers work that out faster than publishers think.

Own one of these businesses and want to advertise? The rankings still aren't for sale, but the ad slots are.
